Man admits sending harassing voice and WhatsApp messages

February 2, 2022

A man who harassed another man by sending him voice and WhatsApp messages will be sentenced in May.

Andrew McCulloch appeared at Letterkenny Circuit Court where he pleaded guilty to a single charge of harassment.

The court heard how on dates between July 5th and 17th, 2019 at Sliabh Sneacht Road in Letterkenny, McCulloch harassed Gerard Devine.

The court was told that both Gerard Devine and another person Amanda Clarke were entitled to prepare victim impact statements.

McCulloch’s barrister, Mr Niall O’Neill asked for a probation report in the case.

He also said he was seeking a prison Governor’s report from Cloverhill Prison where McCulloch, from Loophead, Kibaha, Co Clare, has been since 2019.

He added that he was a very different person since the incident.

Judge John Aylmer agreed to the request and adjourned the case for final sentencing to May.
