Maxi Curran is hoping his Donegal Ladies football team can progress in the league to avoid a long period off of competitive action.

Donegal face Galway in the National League Division 1A opener tomorrow (Saturday) night in MacCumhaill Park with the game live on TG4. Throw-in is at 7.30pm with coverage starting at 7.15pm

Donegal played The Tribeswomen twice last season, with Donegal coming out on top in the league by 4-21 to 2-10.

Galway prevailed in the Championship group stage as they won 3-10 to 1-11 as both sides progressed to the quarter-final.

Curran also spoke of the change in personnel and the youth being brought into the panel for the big year ahead.
