Ronan Boyce has been awarded with a new 4-year-contract with Derry City.
The Ramelton man, who was named in the PFAI Team of the Year for 2021, has been rewarded with a contract that will keep him at the Brandywell until the end of the 2025 season.
Boyce netted 7 times from defence last season and will play a crucial role in Derry’s new look side hoping to be challenging at the top end of the table.
Chairman Phillip O’Doherty said: “We want to keep our best players at Derry City and this is another step in that direction.”
“Ronan has shown what can be done with the right attitude and determination but also under the guidance of the quality coaching team we have at the club.”
“He has earned this contract and it serves as an incentive to the lads in our Academy that the opportunity is right here for them.”
Manager Ruaidhri Higgins was also given a new 4 year contract after guiding Derry to 4th last season despite a terrible start to the campaign where he replaced Declan Devine with the club bottom of the table.
