Met Eireann has issued an immediate weather warning for Donegal and Mayo today due to continued stormy conditions.
The west and north west is being hit by very strong and gusty west to southwest winds and heavy rain today.
A status yellow weather alert came into force at 11am and will continue until 3pm this afternoon.
A second alert kicks in at 10pm for snow and ice in Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo. Forecasters are warning that blustery showers of hail, sleet and snow with icy stretches on untreated surfaces will lead to hazardous driving conditions on Wednesday night and Thursday midday.
A third alert comes into force on Thursday due to further strong and gusty west to northwest winds. This status yellow warning will be valid in Clare, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo from 8am to 6pm Thursday.
