Warning as house burgled while residents at mass

Residents have been warned to make sure their homes are locked and secure while attending mass.

It follows an attempted burglary at Moness Cottages in Burt last night.

It is understood the residents of the house had left their home to attend mass when the burglars struck.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed to Donegal Daily they are investigating the incident.

A spokesperson said “Gardaí attended an incident of burglary that took place in a domestic residence in the Burt area of Co Donegal at approximately 6pm yesterday, Saturday, 26th February 2022.

“No belongings have been reported as stolen at this time. No injuries have been reported.

“No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.”
