Students of Loreto Letterkenny have shared a creative expression of solidarity towards Mica families through the medium of dance.

No Place Like Home is a TY Young Social Innovators Group from Loreto Letterkenny campaigning for mica redress and recognition. The project is centred around supporting affected students and families.

“Even if it is the smallest change, we want to make a change” – is the aim of the group.

This week, they have released an impactful video of a contemporary dance to the song ‘To Build A Home’ by The Cinematic Orchestra.

“This dance was created to show our support towards Mica affected families and students. We also aim for this to display how people affected by Mica are feeling,” the students said.

The featured dancers are Jessica Keys and Eve Callaghan. The dance was choreographed by Jessica Keys with Rioghnach McFadden doing the videography.

The dance is one of many local actions taken by the innovative group in their efforts to support the Mica campaign.

Earlier this month, the group held a student stance event with campaigner Paddy Diver, Michael Doherty or the Mica Action Group and TDs Thomas Pringle and Padraig Mac Lochlainn.
