The price of home heating oil across Donegal has hit a record high.
A price comparison of some fuel suppliers in the county shows that it is now the most expensive time to heat a home than ever before.
O’Donnell Fuels is coming in at one of the cheapest per 1000 litres at €1,245.
Swilly Fuels are selling 1000 litres at €1,259 while A&N Fuels are selling 1000 litres for €1,279.
Whoriskey Heating Oils is charging €1,380 for 1000 litres of fuel.
Last year, the average price of 1000 litres of heating oil was €700.
However, many distributors are now facing a supply issue.
We contacted a number of suppliers asking about availability and two distributors told us they were currently only supplying regular customers.
The increase in home-heating oils comes hand-in-hand with the spike in petrol and diesel costs which have now reacher €2 a litre in many outlets across the county.
