Animals in Need Donegal have announced the closure of their Letterkenny fundraising shop due to financial struggles.

The rescue charity operates two non-profit shops in the county – one in Donegal Town and one at Lower Main Street Letterkenny.

But, after six years in business, the Letterkenny store will close permanently from 25th March.

A statement said: “Sadly, due to the high running costs and current financial climate, we have had to make the sad decision to close our Letterkenny charity shop. Our Donegal Town shop will continue as normal.”

Volunteers will no longer be accepting donations for sale in Letterkenny.

From now until 25th March, they will be having an everything must go sale.

“EVERYTHING at minimum 1/2 price, so come along, grab a bargain and show your support one last time.”

Shop opening times are Tuesday-Friday 11-4pm.

“We would like to thank all our volunteers and customers over the years as you have all been part of raising funds to save many animals.

“We will, of course, remain open and continue to rescue and support animals across County Donegal.

“We will have a new drop off point in Letterkenny for anyone looking to donate food, toys etc to the animals. You can contact us on 087-7644420 for more information.”
