Letterkenny Councillor, Jimmy Kavanagh, has welcomed the replacement of a crash barrier on the Ramelton Road.
“I raised this issue with the council almost two years ago, but Covid restrictions meant that the work was not completed until recently,” he said.
“The barrier was badly damaged with parts of it protruding from the ground, meaning it could have posed a risk of seriously injuring or killing someone in the event of an accident where a driver or passenger was thrown from a vehicle. The new barrier is therefore very welcome and an important safety feature on what is a very busy road.”
