Horgan calls on players to be ‘more clinical’ as Harps travel to Sligo

Finn Harps make the short trip to neighbours Sligo Rovers tonight with kickoff at the Showgrounds at 7.45pm.

Harps will be hoping to bounce back from Friday’s defeat at the hands of FAI Cup holders St. Patrick’s Athletic while the Bit O’ Red will look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

Like Finn Harps, Sligo had their opening game of the season against Bohemians called off due to the weather.

Since then, they’ve picked up 7 points on the road with wins at St. Patrick’s Athletic and and Drogheda United, while they drew away to Derry and shared the spoils in their only home game so far against Dundalk.

Tunde Owolabi is the only player to have got the ball into the Sligo net this season as they defend a run of 3 straight clean sheets, while Harps have scored just once this season.

With two points from their opening four games, Ollie Horgan’s side will be hoping to add to that tally, as last time at the Showgrounds Kosovar Sadiki scored the only goal of the game as Harps travelled back to Donegal with 3 points.

Ollie Horgan told FinnHarps.ie “We’ve had a very tough go at it in Sligo over the years and the way they’ve started the season things could go a similar way tomorrow night if we aren’t right.

We’ve created chances in every game up to now but haven’t made them count. We’ll need to be more clinical sooner rather than later to get points on the board and keep touch with the clubs above us.”

In team news Regan Donelon, Rob Slevin, Ryan Connolly, Nathan Logue and Elie-Gael N’Zeyi are doubts.
