The HSE has confirmed the purchase of a €325,000 house and lands in the east of the county will be developed for vulnerable adults.

As reported by Donegal Daily two weeks ago, the five-bedroom home is set on 3.3 acres at Cavan Lower, Killygordon, just off the main N15 Stranorlar to Lifford road.

It is located less than a mile from Stranorlar.

“It is confirmed that the HSE has purchased a house and lands at Cavan Lower, Killygordon for the purposes of providing residential accommodation to vulnerable adults,” a spokesperson for the health authority said.

They also confirmed the purchase price was €325,000 and it is hoped the property will be renovated to the required standard by the end of this year.

“The HSE Transforming Lives policy aims to support people with disabilities to live ordinary lives in ordinary places as independently as possible. The residential home being developed will provide a home in the community with the necessary supports for four people with a disability.”

The red brick home, set on a large level site with mature trees and shrubs includes a study, three bathrooms, three reception rooms and stables.
