Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Donegal T.D., Charlie McConalogue recently visited the Whitestrand Utd FC grounds together with Senator Niall Blaney and met with members of the club’s management committee.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss funding streams and opportunities for the club as they plan ambitious upgrade works to the pitch and grounds.

Commenting, the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Donegal T.D. said: “I was delighted to meet with some of the club’s management team at their picturesque grounds to discuss their plans to expand and grow the grounds and club for the benefit of the local community.”

Senator Blaney said: “I was delighted Minister McConalogue took the opportunity to meet with members of the committee of my old football club. The club is at the centre of their local community and they’ve done exceptional work in developing the club and grounds into what it is now. I look forward to working with the club on the next stage of their adventure including astro turf playing surfaces.”
