People across Donegal have been urged not to park at access routes used by the emergency services ahead of what promises to be a busy Bank Holiday Weekend.
At previous holiday weekends access points for the RNLI and other emergency services along the coast have been blocked by people parking illegally.
There have been a number of incidents in recent years at various piers including Downings and Bunbeg where emergency vehicles have been blocked.
Gardai have appealed to motorists to park responsibly and not to put lives in danger.
A Garda spokesperson said “The weather forecast for the Easter period is looking good and we ask anybody who is intending to travel to beaches, beauty spots over the bank holiday weekend to park in a responsible and legal manner.
“Ensure that you are not blocking access for emergency services, this includes at piers where emergency coastal services operate from.”
