Thousands of homes and businesses in north Donegal are without power this evening.
ESB Networks have confirmed that more than 8,000 customers have been affected following a fault in the Milford area.
The incident occurred at around 8:45 pm and it is expected that power will be restored shortly after midnight tonight.
“We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible,” read a statement on the ESB website.
ESB Networks is urging everyone to stay safe, and never approach fallen lines.

UPDATE: The power has since been restored to the vast majority of homes as of 10.30pm..
