Emma Doherty was on the scoresheet as Sligo Rovers won their first home league game 3-1 against Treaty United in the Women’s National League.
Treaty took an early lead thanks to a Leah Kelly own goal after 11 minutes but three goals in 10 minutes saw Sligo cruise ahead.
Aoife Brennan equalised from a free-kick and Buncrana native Doherty got her side ahead two minutes later when she was played in and slotted home from a tight angle.
Brennan made it 3-1 in added time of the first half with another free-kick as Sligo recorded an historic win at The Showgrounds.
Doherty is coming in off the back of a trip to the Czech Republic with the Republic of Ireland under-19 team in which she scored a brace on her debut against the Czechs.
