Ann-Marie McGlynn sets new Irish record

Ann-Marie McGlynn set a new Irish F40 5k track record on Saturday in Belfast.

The Letterkenny AC athlete was competing at the Mary Peters’ Track in Belfast as she finished in 15:46.08.

McGlynn was second to Scottish athlete Annabel Simpson of Fife AC, who won marginally from McGlynn with a time of 15:44.87 qualifying her for the Commonwealth games.

In the same race, Noeleen Scanlan had a track personal best as she finished in 17:20.

In the mens race, Conor Gallagher finished 28th with a time of 16:44.86

The race was won by Lucas Cairns, of Scottish club Inverness Harriers, in 15.34.
