Man arrested after car damages off-licence premises in Letterkenny

A man has appeared before the courts after an incident in which an off-licence premises in Letterkenny was damaged.

Donegal Daily understands the man drove his car at the premises on the Pearse Road.

The driver fled but was later apprehended by Gardai when the car crashed outside of the town.

The incident is understood to have followed a series of incidents in the town when other cars were damaged.

The man in his 20s was later arrested by Gardai.

It is not understood that anybody was injured in the incident.

However, damage was caused to the premises.

The incident happened on Thursday evening last.

A Garda spokesperson told Donegal Daily “Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s for dangerous driving and criminal damage offences in Letterkenny on the evening of the 12th May 2022.

“He was charged and appeared before Letterkenny District Court on the 13th May 2022. As this matter is now before the courts we cannot provide further comment.”
