Three Donegal responder groups are to share a community funding windfall.
The groups are to benefit by almost €140,000 for three projects under Measure 2: Mobility, Cancer Care and Community First Responders Transport, as part of funding announced this morning for community first responders by Minister Heather Humphreys.
Joe McHugh, TD for Donegal, “I am delighted to see three important projects will share €138,740 across Donegal to assist them in carrying out the vital roles they play in our communities.
This funding will be used by Donegal Cancer Flights and Services, Irish Community and Air Ambulance and Milford and District Resource Centre for the purchase of a minibus/ vehicle to provide essential transport services for cancer patients and people with mobility issues.
“Congratulations to all these organisations for their success in putting together these applications, and for their hard-work and dedication to providing these essential services in our towns, villages and communities across Donegal,” concluded McHugh.

The CLÁR (Ceantair Laga Árd-Riachtanais) programme is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and forms part of the Government’s ambitious new five year policy for rural Ireland, Our Rural Future.
