Three brave Donegal people are getting ready for a skydiving adventuring this Friday to raise funds for a special baby girl.
The fundraiser is in aid of T.J. (Tina Joan) Needham, a 20-month-old girl with severe spina bifida meningocele.
To raise money for specialist treatment abroad, T.J.s grandad Patsy McDaid from Drumkeen, and his cousins Maggie and Charlie McDaid are taking a giant leap, 10,000ft from a plane, at Wild Geese in Garvagh.
They have already raised more than €14,000 and all support is greatly appreciated: https://gofund.me/fd50b016
Little T.J. has benefitted from incredible support from communities in Donegal and in Dublin as her parents Claire and Jay, from Dublin, prepare for her treatment at the Peto Institute in Budapest later this year.
T.J. is the young couple’s miracle baby. Before she was born, doctors said T.J. would have no quality of life, but Claire and Jay never lost hope. Ever since she came into the world in October 2020, T.J. has fought against the odds and has shown promising signs of movement in her legs.
Her treatment and all the special equipment she needs will cost an estimated €100,000.
Claire said: “Our Little Princess deserves this. If anyone wants to organise any fundraising please contact me or any family member. Big or small, all the help is needed to get TJ to Budapest in a few months. Thanks to everyone who has helped and donated so far really means a lot for our little angel to get the chance to walk and she will, little warrior.”
