Finn Harps 2009s look to go unbeaten in the Minor section group C of the Super Cup NI as they face Larne today at 2pm.
Speaking before the tournament, the Harps boss Kevin McHugh said: “This is a very very well run tournament that will test these boys in every game.
“Its great for their development on all fronts, from the opposition they’ll play, staying together as a group for 5x days, to mixing with top teams from all over the world.”
In their opening game, Finn Harps beat Coleraine 4-1 on Monday.
Leighton Green scored twice, while Naoise Kavanagh and Matteo Secondino were also on the scoresheet, with Cole Connelly putting in a man of the match performance.
Then yesterday, they drew with Belfast club Linfield as Leighton Green again scored a brace in the 2-2 draw.
McHugh said: “It was a really tight game against a quality Linfield team.
“The boys showed a great mindset in coming from behind to going 2-1 up. It’s still all to play for now going into our final group game versus Larne.
“They are really enjoying the experience and you just cannot replicate this kind of competitive setup in which our boys can test themselves in.”
Larne meanwhile, are on three points, having beat Coleraine 2-1 yesterday, but lost to Linfield 3-1 on Monday.
The game between Finn Harps and Larne will be streamed live on the BBCSportNI website at 2pm today.
