Amber Barrett has signed for one of the most successful teams in European football, Turbine Potsdam.
The Milford woman will be staying in Germany in the Frauen Bundesliga with Potsdam in the state of Brandenburg.
Potsdam have won the Women’s Champions League twice, in 2005 and 2010, while also making the final a further two times in 2006 and 2011.
Potsdam came fourth in the Frauen Bundesliga last season, while Barrett’s former club Köln were 7th in the 12 team league.
Barrett has 30 Ireland caps and will be looking forward to the Republic of Ireland’s crunch World Cup qualifier against Finland on the 1st of September in Tallaght Stadium, which is sold out.
A win against Finland would see Ireland be guaranteed a semi-final play-off for the World Cup by finishing second in Group A, behind Euro 2022 semi-finalists Sweden.
