Captain Jodie Loughrey scores as Ireland end SuperCupNI on a high

Jodie Loughrey was captain as she scored the fourth and final goal as Republic of Ireland Under-17s defeated Northern Ireland 4-0 at Mossley Park in the SuperCup NI.

Aoife Kelly scored the opener in the Fibrus SCNI GLOBE Final, while an OG made it 2-0 in the second half.

Rep. of Ireland’s top scorer Ceola Bergin made it 3-0 with minutes to go and Buncrana native Loughrey made it 4-0.

The Irish side went through the tournament unbeaten.

Their opening games against Surf Select ended 2-2, in which Loughrey, who plays for the Donegal Women’s League, scored in.

The next game was against today’s opponents Northern Ireland where again neither team could take the three points, with the game ending 1-1.

Finally, Ireland won 16-0 in their final group game against Ottawa City to reach the Globe Final, where they would face Northern Ireland.
