A popular Donegal food truck is being forced to close down due to rising costs such as electric and fuel prices.

The Copper Pan in Milford has been opened for over a year and served many locals on a daily basis conveniently during times of lockdown and social distancing.

The owners, Shane and Hannah, have had to bring an end to their business however, citing the cost of fuel and electric bills, along with food prices as their reason for closing.

They also encouraged locals to continue to support small businesses in the locality in order to keep them up and running.

A post on Instagram said: “It is with heavy heart that we have decided to close The Copper Pan due to food prices, electric bills, cost of fuel increasing it is crippling for small businesses like ourselves, we are gutted to have to do this but it is just no longer viable for us to do this on a daily basis!

“If anyone has a voucher please message the page and we will organise a refund with you.

“We would like to thank all of our amazing customers for supporting us since May 2021.

“Running a business is never easy but the support we received has made our journey smooth. One thing we will ask is that you continue to support the small businesses around you, they really do need it more than ever!

“We have enjoyed meeting everyone that as come to the van to support us , however big or small.

“To our family and friends thank you for believing in us and everything you did to help us on our journey, from those who helped us on daily basis, to those who helped us set the van up in the beginning we are so grateful for everything who helped in anyway!

“It’s a new chapter for Chef Shane and Hannah, we won’t be far away if you ever need anything.”
