This dramatic footage shows the scale of the damage caused to one of Donegal’s busiest roads.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the main Letterkenny to Glenties road at Glenswilly after part of it was washed away during the night.

Flooding caused by last night’s torrential rain has completely removed part of the road, just past Glenswilly school.

A large amount of debris, including pipes, are blocking the route and Donegal County Council staff are currently at the scene.

Part of the road is completed submerged.

More to follow.
