Fr.Eamonn Kelly may have been happy enough to allow his 60th birthday pass without much of a fuss.
But the chance to highlight and raise funds for a cause that is so close to his heart was just too difficult to allow pass by.
On Friday night last the Letterkenny-born priest did indeed have a little celebration.
Set in St Mary’s Hall in Convoy, what took place was a night of stories, songs and much laughter.
And all donations on the night (of which there were plenty) went directly to Mary’s Meals Ireland.
The charity helps to feed 2,279,941 million children around the world every school day at a cost of €18.30 per child each school year.
Fr Eamonn’s milestone birthday and the amazing work of Mary’s Meals – two good reasons to blow out the candles on any cake!
