A team from the Irish Red Cross Donegal area will be visiting Creeslough this Thursday evening to meet with local people in need of support.
Volunteers from the Donegal branch of the charity will be at the Creeslough Day Centre from 8:30pm until approx 10:30pm (but for as long as needed).
The work of the Red Cross in Creeslough has been funded by The Creeslough Community Support Fund which reached €673,000 in just 48 hours up to Wednesday.
The fund, supported by An Post and Applegreen, will assist those who have been bereaved, injured, made homeless, or left without an income as a result of the tragedy.
Members of the community affected by Friday’s tragedy who may need financial assistance are welcome to talk to the representatives in complete confidence this evening.
“The Red Cross have stressed that the impact of Friday’s events can take a number of forms and any discussion are in complete confidence with the support and welfare of those affected the focus of this process,” said a notice from the community centre.
“In the event that anyone is uncomfortable to meet directly, a family member or advocate may come along on their behalf and obtain further information in the first instance.
“If anyone affected is not able to attend tonight, or is not able to have an advocate attend, there will be follow-on sessions or direct contact details will be available.”
