Cloughaneely GAA are on the hunt for a new senior team manager as Michael Lynch has stepped down after six years in charge.
Lynch took over in 2017 from John Paul Gallagher and immediately got them promoted to Division1 in the league, while they built on returning to the Senior Championship after relegation in 2015 after a year at the top level.
A tough ask to return to the Senior Championship, they got to their first Intermediate final under Lynch in 2019 but were defeated by St. Naul’s.
The following year they reached the final again but were defeated this time by Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon by 2-14 to 1-12.
And they looked likely to lose a third IFC final in a row when five points down at half-time to Dungloe last year, but ended up drawing after being three points ahead.
But Lynch’s men rallied and dominated the replay to win by 1-11 to 0-5.
Their draw with Four Masters in the Senior Championship this year was enough to avoid the bottom four and the relegation play-off.
The reserves, who are also in the hunt for a new manager, made the quarter-final of the Senior B Championship before being well beaten by eventual winners Naomh Conaill.
