Creeslough’s newly-crowned National Cross Country Champion Caolan McFadden has been chosen to turn on the village’s Christmas lights this year.
In what will be a very poignant moment for many following the events of October 7th last, the young athlete will flick the switch on the lights on December 10th next at 5.45pm.
It will be a tender moment for many following the loss of ten of the town’s citizens in the recent tragedy.
But it will also be a very special moment for young Caolan and his family.
On Sunday last, the young Creeslough man crossed the line first in the Boys Under 16 National Cross Country Championships in Rosapenna.
Just seconds after cross the line, the young Cranford AC athlete dedicated his victory to the people of Creeslough and all they have been through in recent weeks.
Further details of the Creeslough Christmas lights switch-on will be released closer to the date.
