Keith Cowan has left Drogheda United after a year at the club.

The Ramelton native played 25 times for the Loyuth side as they finished 8th in the Premier Division.

The 37-year-old joined United at the beginning of the year, having had spells at Dungannon and Glentoran.

The former Finn Harps captain posted on Instagram: “Short, but very sweet, is how i would describe my time
Drogheda United.

“Unfortunately I will not be a Drog next season. It truly was one of my most enjoyable years in football. The people at the club, the players and Management have made my family & I feel so welcome from day 1.”
