Donegal men Kieran Farren and Marc Welsh have been enjoying their football in the NIFL Premiership in recent times.
Carndonagh man Farren was named Coleraine’s Player of the Month for November which saw his side keep for clean sheets in four games, with the 22-year-old at the heart of the defence.
The Finn Harps Academy graduate, who joined from Dergview earlier this year, started as his side knocked Cliftonville out of the Irish League Cup, to reach the final where they will face Linfield in March.
Farren’s side have kept five clean sheets in a row in the league since he came back into the squad, and was given his Player of the Month award on Friday after their 2-0 win over Crusaders.
Meanwhile, Marc Walsh scored and brilliantly set up another as Dungannon Swifts beat Carrick Rangers 4-1 to lift them off joint bottom of the table.
The Loughanure man tapped in the rebound from Rhyss Campbell’s shot from outside the box, which was parried straight to Walsh to make it 2-0.
Carrick Rangers got one back but with 13 minutes to go, Walsh picked up the ball on the left and used his turn of pace to sprint past his marker and brilliantly cross for Campbell who made it 3-1.
Walsh has started just five games this season, coming on a further 11 times, but has now started two games in a row and his performance at the weekend will give manager Dean Shiels no reason to not start him again when they take on Linfield on Saturday.
Walsh joined Dungannon Swifts at the beginning of the year after a spell at Derry City last year.
