Woodland National School recently welcomed home their former pupil, two-time Olympian and four-time European medallist, Mark English.

Mark was given a well-deserved guard of honour when he arrived at the school where he ran his first ever race – a potato and spoon race!!

Mark spoke to all the children in the school and answered lots of questions.

Mark presented medals to the school’s athletic teams.

The President of the Student Council, Jack O’Donnell then made a special presentation to Mark on behalf of the whole school and then Mark and school athlete Ethan Sullivan raised the school’s Active Flag.
