BJ Banda has signed for the current leaders of the Danske Bank Premiership, Larne.
The 24-year-old was most recently at Ballinamallard in the NIFL Championship, where he was top goalscorer for the 2021-22 season.
The Letterkenny native scored 23 goals in 58 games for Harry McConkey’s side in his 18 months at the Mallards.
Banda was a Finn Harps hero at just 17 when his last gasp header in extra-time of the 2015 Premier Division play-off saw Finn Park erupt as they returned to the Premier Division with a win over Limerick.
Larne boss Tiernan Lynch said: “We are very pleased to bring BJ to the club, having kept a close eye on him for a while.
“He has done well in the Championship, and since he’s trained with us he hasn’t looked out of place.
“It’s obviously a step-up to the Premiership, but he is a player hungry to learn and develop.
“Despite his young age he has good experience under his belt and we’re looking forward to him giving us a different option.”
