10,000 customers without power as major ESB fault hits Letterkenny

Almost 10,000 customers are without power in Letterkenny following a major power faulty in the town.

The fault happened just before 5pm and is expected t last until at least 7pm this evening.

ESB Networks say that 9908 customers are affected.

The fault is centred around the Gortlee area of the town.

A spokesperson said “We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair a fault affecting your premises and will restore power as quickly as possible.”

There are also reports of other power outages in the Ray and Rathmullan areas this evening.
