Charlie O’Donnell and Teresa Doherty were the respective winners of the individual titles at the Donegal Masters Cross Country in Letterkenny yesterday.

The Rosses AC man won the men’s event from Inishowen AC’s Pauric McKinney with Letterkenny AC’s Raymond Birch taking 3rd.

Inishowen took the M50 team title in super style, with McKinney leading the way from Martin McLucas in second and Liam Bradley in third in an impressive 1-2-3 for the club.

O’Donell’s performance added to solid backup from Fergal McGee, Mark Ward and Manus McHugh in 6th, 7th and 8th respectively, took Rosses to the M35 title.

Finn Valley AC dominated in the women’s race, as they took a 1-2 with Teresa Doherty winning from Leoni Cooke, while Rosses AC’s Helen McCready was back in third.

McCready’s teammate Emer Magee was 8th overall and the first F50 to cross the line, with Kay Byrne of Finn Valley and Edwina Sweeney from Tir Chonaill AC in behind.

Doherty and Cooke’s 1-2, along with strong runs from Catriona Devine and Joanne McNabb saw Finn Valley pick up the team title, and Byrne’s run along with Ita Kelly and Noreen Bonner saw them pick up another gold, taking the F50 team top spot.
