The Status Yellow ice warning for Ireland will remain in place until at least 12 noon today.
Motorists are urged to proceed with caution as many roads around the county are still in a treacherous condition.
Met Éireann is forecasting that wintry showers will clear through the morning.
Mostly dry weather will follow for the rest of the day with sunny spells, although some mist and fog may linger locally with little or no wind. Another cold day with highest temperatures of just 1 to 4 degrees.
It will be very cold again tonight with frost and icy stretches. Dry early with some clear spells, however mist will thicken into dense freezing fog in parts. Lowest temperatures of -5 to -2 degrees in just light southeast breezes.
It will be slightly warmer tomorrow, with temperatures increasing to four to five degrees.
