Sad passing of popular Glenfin publican, Charlie McGlynn

The death has taken place of one of Donegal’s best known publicans, Charlie McGlynn.

Late of The Reelin Bar, Garvan, Cloghan, he passed away yesterday at the Donegal Hospice. 

For many years, the late Mr McGlynn also owned and ran McGlynn’s Bar at Glenfin Street, Ballybofey.

He experienced one his one of proudest moments recently when his grandson, Luke, lined out for the Donegal senior footballers.

Charlie is survived by his wife Rose, daughter Ann, sons Joe, Jim, Adrian, Cathal and Martin; grandchildren Jodie, Kaine, Luke, James, Shauna, Joel and Aron. Charlie’s close friend, John Farley, neighbours and friends.

His remains will repose at his late residence today. Requiem Mass on Saturday, January 28, at 11am in ‘Our Lady of Perpetual Succour’, Glenfin, with interment afterward in Cill Mhuire Cemetery, Glenfin.

Rosary nightly at 9pm. Family time from 10pm to 11am, and on the morning of the funeral. Family Flowers only. Donations if desired to the Donegal Hospice to any family member or Marley Funeral Directors.
