A select number of main roads across Donegal are to be gritted tomorrow morning as temperatures drop below freezing.

Gritters will be out across eleventh routes from 6am on Wednesday morning.

Met Eireann is forecasting overnight lows of -1 to +3 degrees, so frost and ice are possible.

The Ulster forecast says: “Wet and breezy early tonight with moderate to fresh southerly winds. Rain will clear eastwards overnight and will be followed by clear spells and scattered showers, possibly of hail. ”

The following routes will be gritted from 6AM on Wed. 22/02:

  • 01: National Primary North
  • 02: National Primary Central
  • 09: Cill Ulta East
  • 12: Binswilly
  • 13: Stranorlar North
  • 14: Stranorlar East
  • 15: Stranorlar West
  • 16: Donegal West
  • 17: Donegal North
  • 18: Donegal South
  • LT: Letterkenny Town

Check Donegal County Council’s interactive map for gritting routes
Assume that no road is ice free.
