Gardaí are investigating the theft of 24 sheep from a farm in east Donegal last week.

The incident occurred at a holding in Ballyboe, St JohnstonGardai – 19  of the sheep were male and five, black in colour, were female.

The theft took place sometime between 5pm on Wednesday, February 15, and 11am on Friday, February 17.

Twelve of the sheep have a red marking sprayed on their head and four have blue sprayed on their back.

“We are unsure whether the other eight had markings or not,” Garda Grainne Doherty said.

If anybody has any information in relation to this theft, or in relation to the current whereabouts of these animals, they should contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100 or the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.
