A man has been arrested after a lorry which had been reported stolen struck a PSNI car on Lifford Bridge.

The incident happened just after 8.3-pm last night.

Gardai had tried to stop the lorry on the Donegal side of the bridge but the lorry drove on.

It drove towards Strabane but then struck the rear of the police car.

The PSNI have confirmed that a 37-year-old man was arrested and is still in custody.

Gardai and the PSNI are liaising with eachother on the incident.
