Crowds gathered in Omagh this morning in protest at the attempted murder of a senior police officer earlier this week.
Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell is fighting for his life in hospital having been shot at a sports complex on Wednesday night in front of his son.
Five men have been arrested in connection with the attempted murder investigation.
A vigil was held by Mr Caldwell’s football club in Beragh earlier this morning, before a larger protest at the Courthouse, High Street.
The ‘No Going Back’ protest said “No to paramilitarism. No to sectarian division. No to state representation. No to poverty.”
“There must be no going back to the Troubles,” said Omagh Trades Union Council Secretary Anton McCabe.
“The shooting of John Caldwell, in front of children, was barbaric. It has traumatised the children who were there. It has opened up the trauma many carry from the past. Those who carry out these actions offer our community death, injury and division.
“Workers and young people want better. We want freedom from fear.”
