A Donegal tree surgeon came to the rescue of a tiny kitten who got into a lofty predicament in Convoy yesterday.
Little Kayla the kitten was out and about enjoying the sunshine yesterday when she became stuck in a high tree.
Locals could not coax the terrified kitten down, so they had to call for backup.
Letterkenny-based tree surgeon Mario from MP Tree Surgeons rushed to the rescue, and a Gortlee Tool Hire cherry picker was delivered to the area.
Mario is no stranger to saving curious cats, and he skillfully got Kayla down safe and sound.
Animal rescue volunteer Tara Lafferty, who helped coordinate the mission, has praised Mario for his services over the years. In 2020, he saved a cat from a tree that had been stuck in a tree on the New Line Road in Letterkenny for FOUR days.
“A cat can get too scared to move it’s a bad sign if they stay up a tree more than a couple of hours,” said Tara.
“I love when rescues go according to plan. We all need more Marios.”
