The Doochary Development Group- Tidy Towns have installed two new defibrillators for the village.

A fundraising project took place to raise funds to purchase these vital pieces of life saving equipment. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of villagers and work by the village committee, there were enough funds to purchase two defibs.

One has been erected at the entrance to the village Shop run by the Caulfield family and the other was gifted by the committee to the National School.

Efforts to raise funds included a wonderful charity concert by the village’s talented daughter Catriona McElhinney-Grimes, as well as bucket collections and charity teas.

Cumann Forbartha – Na Dúchoraidh, Doochary Development Group- Tidy Towns is offering a short course on how to use the defibs and emergency first aid, anyone interested must contact the group via their social media page. It also wishes to thank the village for its generosity and Cllrs Noreen McGarvey and Cllr Micheal Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig, as well as Father Eddie Gallagher for their support.
