Donegal County Council gritters are being deployed to all major routes this evening as temperatures drop to freezing lows.
All main routes will be gritted from 7pm onwards today (Monday).
Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Ice Warning for Donegal from 6pm this evening (Monday) until 10am Tuesday.
Tonight will be “very cold with lowest temperatures of 0 to -4 degrees,” Met Eireann says.
“There will be widespread sharp frost with icy stretches. Scattered wintry showers of sleet and snow will move into northern coastal areas later, in mostly light northerly breezes.”
ALL Donegal Winter Maintenance designated gritting routes will be gritted from 7PM on Mon. 06/03. Donegal gritting route index as follows:
