Buncrana teen Rocco McGinley will be in the hearts and minds of all who take part in this year’s Bear Run 74 fundraiser.
The hugely popular supercar and classic car event is returning to Donegal and Derry this April 29th – 30th in aid of the BUMBLEance Children’s National Ambulance Service.
This year, each vehicle will display a special tribute to Rocco, who passed away from cancer in February 2023.
The 15-year-old was a much-loved member of the Bear Run family and he had a particular love for the black Lamborghini.
The Bear Run 74 team, led by Lifford man Keith Gamble and Steve Henry, helped raise funds for Rocco’s Road to Recovery last year.
This year, as participants gear up for another run, they will be displaying stickers for Rocco on their Porsches, American muscle cars, McLarens, Ferraris and more.
Keith ‘Bear’ Gamble from Lifford, who owns Joe Soap’s Car Wash, organises the car events in memory of his late father but also to raise much needed funds for charity.
The name of the event comes from Keith, whose nickname is the Bear, and the 74 is for the age of his father Joe Gamble, who passed away from cancer last year.
