Gardaí are investigating two separate incidents of criminal damage which saw vehicles set ablaze in the Letterkenny area last weekend.

In one incident, a car was set on fire just inside the grounds of Letterkenny University Hospital.

The vehicle – a red Toyota Vitz – with a partial registration of ‘12 D 61’ was set ablaze close to the main entrance of the hospital grounds. The incident happened at around 2.05am in the early hours of  Saturday last, March 11th.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information or even dashcam footage of the vehicle being driven in the area that night, to contact them.

Meanwhile in a separate incident, a jeep was set alight in the Manorcunningham area shortly after midnight on Friday, March 10th.

The jeep was parked at a yard at a house at Whitehill, Manorcunningham.

Investigating gardaí say they are particularly interested in sightings of a lone male in the area that night.

Gardaí in Letterkenny can be contacted on 074 91 67100.
