Eighty-two houses and two apartment blocks containing eight apartments are included in the application.

Permission was also granted for a purpose-designed 11000sq.ft childcare facility for an existing childcare provider in the area to cater for approx. 150 children.

The associated site works will include a new vehicular entrance, landscaped open spaces and planted boundary buffers, connection to public services to include associated storm attenuation and re-routing of existing water mains at Glencar Irish and Glencar Scotch.

Part of the 34 conditions set by Donegal County Council is that the new homes are used as permanent houses and apartments only and not as holiday homes. Other conditions relate to traffic safety, roads and footpaths, the play area and others.

Donegal Daily has learned that developer P.J. McDermott intends to commence construction in early Spring 2023
