Donegal County Council has confirmed that the Pier Car Park in Donegal Town will be closed tomorrow morning as a precaution over the risk of flooding.

A high tide and storm surge are predicted at around 6am on Wednesday.

With that in mind, the Pier Car Park will be closed between 4.15am and 8am.

Met Éireann has issued an overnight weather alert for wind in Donegal.

The status yellow alert takes effect from 2am on Wednesday until 8am.
