The Donegal branch of Anam Cara, a national organisation supporting bereaved parents, will hold their monthly meeting next week.

They run bereavement information evenings online, have a podcast series “Conversations in Grief” and many, many other free resources for those who have experienced the death of a child.

On Thursday 13th April, Anam Cara will hold their Donegal meeting in The Radisson Blu Hotel, Letterkenny at 7:15pm.

All bereaved parents are welcome, regardless of the age of the child or circumstances of death. Any bereaved parents in Donegal and surrounds are welcome to attend.

For further information, Anam Cara can be contacted on 085 2888888 or by email info@anamcara.ie

Women’s Mini Marathon

The apps have been downloaded, the training has begun, and the excitement is building for the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon, taking place on Sunday 4th June.

The theme this year, “For Me For You” is very apt for all those taking on the 10km route this June bank holiday weekend. All the fantastic ladies taking part will do so for the fun, for the buzz, for the feelgood factor and for so many, a cause close to their hearts. Our Anam Cara team is growing, and we would love for many more to join us on the day. Soak up the atmosphere before the event as we all gather pre-race, run, jog or walk at your own pace on the day and then meet up after for that feelgood factor. To join our team, please contact Jamie on j.conway@anamcara.ie.

Every cent raised by those taking part, will ensure our support services for bereaved parents across the country continue to thrive. We hope to upscale our training with frontline professionals, as they navigate the difficult task of supporting bereaved parents.
