A woman in her 70s has died after she was hit by a car near Clones, County Monaghan.
The driver of the car was not injured in the collision, which occurred at 10.45pm last night on the Newbliss Road at Clonavilla.
The R183 at Clonavilla remains closed with local diversions in place. Forensic investigations are due to take place later.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward, including those who may have dashcam footage from the R183 last night.
