Recommendations for a restored rail line between Donegal and Derry are being held back by the lack of government in Stormont, according to reports.

Ireland’s Department of Transport is said to be considering ways to bypass the deadlock at Stormont to publish the review without further delay.

TheJournal.ie reports that a new rail-line connecting Letterkenny to Derry is proposed in the report. The report is also thought to examine moves to reverse some greenway proposals to change their proposed use from walkway/cycleways to rail.
